Healthy Steps Family Sessions are free, relaxed, and interactive group sessions for families with children aged 2 to 12 in Hampshire.

Led by our Family Healthy Coaches and volunteers, each session offers a welcoming environment where you can share concerns, set personalised achievable family goals, and enjoy fun activities together. You’ll leave each session with a variety of helpful resources, information, and practical tools to support your family’s well-being.

There are 6 sessions on offer to families. Find out a bit more about the sessions below:

Eat Well

In this session, we will look at how to create a balanced diet which supports the whole family's health and development.

Cook Well

In this session, we look at recipes, batch cooking, and shopping lists on a budget.

Healthy Teeth

In this session, we will look at the importance of oral health for the family, including visiting the dentist and support with teeth brushing.

Sleep Well

In this session, we look at all things sleep. Including sleep cycles, routines and nightmares.

Get Active

In this session, we look at the benefits of being active as a family, the links between food and energy and being active in your local community.

My Community

In this session, we will work together to think of different places we can go in our local area that will support our health and well-being.

When and where are the sessions?

Family sessions are currently held face-to-face in Hart, Basingstoke, Gosport, and Havant, as well as online via Teams. 

How do I join the family sessions?

How do I join the family sessions?

If you are a parent or carer, you can register to join Healthy Steps family sessions using our Family Enquiry Form.

Once you have submitted the form:

  • One of the team will be in contact with you within 2 working days.
  • We will take time to understand what you and your family need and how we can support you.
  • We will offer you a place on our activity sessions within a month – you can choose the time, dates and venues that suit you best.
  • You can set goals for yourself and your family, and we will support and celebrate your whole family along the way!
  • At the end of the sessions you will have a range of resources, information and practical tools to take away.

If you are a professional, you can refer a family using the referral form. Once you have submitted the form, one of the team will be in contact with you/the family within 2 working days.
